Investigations:
The Walsenburg PD Investigation Division investigates all crimes committed against people and/or their property.



Patrol:
The patrol division provides an around-the-clock, community wide presence to ensure a visible police profile through Walsenburg.

Records:
The Records division is responsible for filing all records in an efficient and accepted method that allow for accountability, accuracy, security and ease of access.
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

 

Animal Control:
Animal control ordinances protect the health, safety and welfare of the general population irresponsible pet ownership. Owning a pet is a privilege and a responsibility.

License Required:
Anyone owning, keeping or having custody of any dog 6 months of age or older must obtain a license for the dog from the city.
The fee for the license is $1 for each $1 for each spayed or neutered dog. Proof of spay or neuter is required. The license tag must be on the collar.

Lease Law:
Anyone having charge, care, custody or control of any dog of any age shall keep such animal under the control of a competent person and on a leash or chain not over 6 feet.

Barking Dogs:
Dogs are not allowed to habitually bark, howl or yelp so as to disturb the peace. To resolve a problem with with the dog owner please contact the Walsenburg PD at 719 738 1044

Animal Cruelty:
A person commits cruelty to animals if he or she overworks, beats, tortures, kills or fails to provide shelter to an animal.

Emergency 9-1-1 Dispatch:
9-1-1 is the first link in an emergency. It is there task to dispatch fire, police and all other emergency responders.
