The City of Walsenburg is the county seat of Huerfano County, located in Southern Colorado. Incorporated on June 16, 1873, Walsenburg was the first statutory city and seventh incorporated municipality in the Territory of Colorado.

FREE Day at Walsenburg Wild Waters!!!

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) is sponsoring a free day at Walsenburg Wild Waters on Friday, July 30th. The first 200 patrons will be admitted free of charge. So cross your fingers for a wind-free (sorry RES) beautiful day and join us for lots of wet and wild fun. (OK maybe we wouldn't mind a small breeze!)

City offices will be closed on Monday August 2nd in observance of Colorado Day. If you need to make a payment please put it in the drop box at the North end of the front sidewalk.

NOTICE

To Property Owners and Occupants in the City of Walsenburg:

The City will be conducting pick-ups this year for Leaves, Shrubs & Tree Branches for those customers who registered for this service. The cost is $3.33 per month added to your utility bill. This includes 2 pick-ups per year (dates and times to be determined by City staff). You can also schedule a one-time pickup for $20.00. Please contact the Utilities office at (719)738-1240 for more information or to schedule a pick-up.

It is the responsibility of property owners and occupants to legally dispose of Leaves, Shrubs, Tree Branches and other refuse.

Huerfano County Waste Transfer Station HOURS are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, for all your disposal needs. Please call 738-9985 for more information.
